  1. A 26-year old Chattanooga man was given a 20-year prison sentence for pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in connection with a killing outside The Oyster Pub & Grill in Dalton. Devon Rapheal Wheeler was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. (The Chattanoogan)
  2. Chattanooga teens are hosting an event for National Suicide Awareness month. The event will be on Sept. 22 at the Spot off of Main Street. Funds raised at the event will go toward To Write Love on Her Arms and the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network. (WRCB-TV)
  3. There will be a livestreamed virtual benefit for LifeSpring Community Health on Sept. 25 that will feature musical performances by the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy's choir. (WTVC)
  4. Janet Hinds' daughter-in-law testified during the first day of the CPD officer's murder trial in Chattanooga, saying she advised Hinds to call the police after the incident but instead she called a lawyer. (WTVC)
  5. The Company Lab, one of Tennessee's nonprofit organizations, won a $50,000 prize from the U.S. Small Business Administration, and they plan to use it to support women founders. (Chattanooga Pulse)
