Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. The Chattanooga Beer Board has suspended the beer license of the Leapin' Leprechaun after reports of a major fight earlier this month ended in the owner's arrest. According to a police affidavit, officers were called to the bar on Mar. 5 after reports of a "fight between nearly 20 individuals" in front of the bar. Owner Brendan O'Doherty, who was reportedly involved in the fight, gave police the wrong name to avoid jail for previous warrants; officers found O'Doherty in the kitchen "hiding behind cooking equipment." (WTVC)
  2. On Thursday morning, crews with the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) rescued a resident trapped on the second story of a burning home. According to CFD, two others jumped from the second floor to escape the flames. No one was hurt in the incident, though seven residents have been displaced. Investigators report food left on the stove caused the blaze. (WTVC)
  3. Attention, all breakfast and brunch lovers: Eggs Up Grill has announced its plans to expand into Chattanooga. The restaurant, which ranked two years consecutively as the number one breakfast franchise in 2021 and 2022 by Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500, is reportedly seeking multi-unit franchises.
