Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. On Monday, Democrat Matt Adams has announced his candidacy for Hamilton County Mayor. Prior to Adams entering the race, three GOP candidates, Matt Hullander, Sabrena Smedley, and Weston Wamp, had their names on the ballot for the May 3 election. Adams is hosting a Virtual Education Forum tomorrow (Feb. 23) at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom and Facebook Live so the community can learn more about his plan for the County. (foxchattanooga.com)
  2. The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga will be hosting a hiring fair at The Kingdom Center this Friday, Feb. 25, featuring 10 employers in the insurance and finance field. Entry-level to mid-career professionals are encouraged to attend to meet with companies like Allstate, Mutual of Omaha, Robert Half Talent Solutions, and more. The League will also host a workshop on Wednesday and resume-building sessions on Thursday to help prepare job seekers for the interview process in partnership with event sponsor Unum. Get the details here. (The Chattanoogan)
  3. The red pandas at the Chattanooga Zoo now have a new outdoor habitat to enjoy. The new exhibit features vertical climbing structures like bridges, tunnels, ladders, and platforms, as well as an outdoor "Panda Condo." Zoo officials say guests can still see the red pandas in their indoor exhibit from the second floor of the Himalayan Passage. (WDEF News 12)
