  1. The National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW), Chattanooga Chapter will be hosting its annual Mardi Gras Ball on the evening of Mar. 12. The now sold-out event will take place at The Chattanoogan Hotel. The Mardi Gras Ball is one of the NCBW's annual signature fundraisers, with the money raised going toward academic scholarships for Chattanooga's female high school seniors, as well as other community-driven initiatives. If you wish to support the organization's efforts, you can make a donation at ncbw-chattanooga.org. (The Chattanoogan)
  2. The Chattanooga Tourism Co. has announced that Susan Harris will be joining the company as Chief Operating Officer on Apr. 18. Harris, who currently serves as president and CEO of See Rock City, Inc., brings 30 years of experience, knowledge, and passion for the travel and tourism industry, according to Chattanooga Tourism Co. CEO Barry White. The company is the official destination marketing organization for Chattanooga and Hamilton County. (The Chattanoogan)

Looking for a healthy alternative to that mid-week glass (or three) of wine? Our partners at Betera set out to create beverages that were sophisticated and flavorful enough to drink at cocktail hour but with zero hangover risk. (Their motto is "Drink like there's tomorrow.") Betera's drinks are designed by a Michelin-starred chef using natural botanicals — they're lightly effervescent, sippable, refreshingly bitter and at home in a stem glass or in a highball on the rocks. Betera offers three recipes — Rhubarb-Hibiscus, Elderflower-Lime and Ginger-Orange. We've tried all three and loved them equally — we recommend the mixed case as a great place to start.

Betera has extended their 15% discount on first orders to Daily readers, in appreciation for the enthusiastic response so far. Enter Patch15 at checkout and https://bit.ly/TryBetera.
