🌱 Police Vehicle Thief In Custody + Highway 58 FD Blood Drive

- A man is in custody after a chase suspect stole a Chattanooga Police vehicle on Sunday morning. Officers responded to the MAPCO Mart off Rossville Blvd. at 10:20 a.m. on Sunday.
where a store clerk was involved in a dispute with a shoplifting suspect, identified as 41-year-old Christopher Parker. According to the police, when they attempted to arrest Parker, he fought back and took control of the officer's patrol vehicle. Georgia State Patrol located the vehicle which led troopers on a pursuit into Catoosa County. GSP was able to arrest Parker in Catoosa County. (WTVC) - On Saturday, Feb. 5, the highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department hosted a blood drive to aid in the blood shortage. Highway 58 volunteer Fire department wanted to help with the blood donation shortage and was more than happy to allow blood assurance to use the space outside Fire Station One. There will be a full health screening next week at Southern Day Adventist church on Orchard Drive next weekend. (WDEF News 12)
- Last Friday, authorities announced Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison will join the review of the fatal shooting of a black man, Amir Locke, by Minneapolis police. The announcement came shortly after police released body camera footage that showed SWAT team officers entering an apartment and shooting the 22-year-old man. In the video, Locke was wrapped in a blanket and had a gun in his hand. The shooting of Locke has sparked demonstrations across Minneapolis. (WTVC)
