  1. A $25 million hotel has been proposed for Chattanooga's Southside. The five-story boutique hotel project won approval from a city panel on Thursday. The hotel will feature 90 rooms. The hotel will reportedly be the tallest building on Main Street after its completion. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  2. A soon-to-be-open Hamilton County Criminal Court seat has three interested individuals. Municipal Judge Robert Davis, Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Alex McVeagh, and Chattanooga attorney Amanda B. Dunn have submitted applications for the seat. The seat will become open in September after Judge Tom Greenholtz steps down. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  3. A local man is in critical condition after trying to help his neighbors escape from an apartment fire. Chattanooga firefighters arrived at a two-story apartment complex in the 1400 block of Bailey Avenue after a fire broke out just before 4:00 a.m on Friday morning. Residents told firefighters about the person trapped inside; he had reportedly stayed behind to help other residents exit the building. According to officials, the man received CPR and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was still in critical condition as of Friday evening. (News 12 Now)
