Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- Chattanooga's University of Tennessee has been chosen to host StoryCorps "One Small Step" program. The university is one of six sites across the country that will be preserving and sharing stories meant to find common ground between members of American society. The program's organizers hope that One Small Step will help repair the damaged political discourse plaguing the country. (Williamson Source)
- The Tennessee Aquarium celebrated its 30th anniversary on Saturday. During its first year of operation, it quickly became Chattanooga's premier tourist attraction. It is estimated that the Tennessee Aquarium has injected nearly $4.9 billion into the city's economy since 1992. The aquarium celebrated the milestone with an all-day riverfront festival. - Chattanooga celebrated Donate Life Month's Blue and Green Day on Friday by turning some lights a different color.
