Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- The Tennessee Black Caucus of State Legislators is hosting a town hall-style forum in Chattanooga. The event will be on Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center on East M.L. King Blvd. with a reception preceding the forum. The focus of the forum is to hear from citizens about the issues facing the state. (Facebook)
- The City of Chattanooga has announced plans to bulldoze the site of a homeless camp on 11th Street. The bulldozing will reportedly occur today. The city has stated safety concerns as the necessity of bulldozing the site. There are reportedly railroad tracks near the homeless camp. (Subscription: Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a Tuesday night shooting that occurred in the 1200 block of Grove Street. The department reports that a 20-year-old woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and is recovering at a local hospital. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the department through the Atlas One App. (WTVC)
