Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- Chattanooga Zoo has given COVID-19 vaccines to some of its animals. According to the zoo, two Jaguars, a Northern White-Cheeked Gibbon, and three chimps have received the COVID-19 jabs. The most at-risk animals were given the vaccinations first but more animals will reportedly follow. (WDEF News 12)
- The Chattanooga Area Food Bank is hosting its 30th Annual Food Drive today. Residents can bring non-perishable food items to the nearest post office or place bags by their mailboxes for easy pick-up. Your local letter carrier will deliver food supplies to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. (WTVC)
- Hamilton County Schools addressed bullying during its Thursday school board meeting. According to the district, there has been a growing trend of bullying since the pandemic began after experiencing a significant decrease between 2015 and 2020. The trend has been attributed to social interaction changes, grief, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students. (WDEF News 12)
