Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- Chattanooga State's Tennessee College of Applied Technology has received a VETS Campus certification. This is the second TCAT in the state to receive the certification from the State of Tennessee Higher Education Commission and the Student Assistance Corporation. The certification is meant to recognize an institution that allocates resources for veterans transitioning to college enrollment. (Press Release Desk)
- Chattanooga Veterans Art Fundraiser is today between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The fundraiser will be raising support for mental health treatment in the Chattanooga area. The event will be at the Wanderlinger Art Gallery. There is a goal of raising $12,000. (The Chattanoogan)
- A construction worker was struck by a vehicle while working on Interstate 75 on Friday morning. The 24-year-old worker was struck in a closed lane around 3:14 a.m. Both the driver and the worker were taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The incident is being investigated. Charges are pending. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
