2 Children Killed in Madison Mobile Home Fire
A fast-moving fire gutted a mobile home in Madison, killing two children and sending two adults to the hospital.

MADISON, TN — Two children are dead and two adults are hospitalized after a fast-moving fire destroyed a mobile home in Madison.
The Nashville Fire Department responded to a fire near Cheyenne Boulevard shortly after 12:20 a.m. Friday.
By the time crews arrived, four people had been pulled from the trailer by neighbors who, according broke through the walls of the mobile home and shattered windows in an effort to rescue those trapped inside.

“They actually tore a section of the wall out and pulled the victims through that hole,” District Chief Jerry Tomlinson told WKRN. “They are the heroes. They pulled these victims out and we greatly appreciate their efforts.”
Three of the victims, including two children, were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A fourth was taken to Skyline Medical Center for smoke inhalation. Shortly before 4 a.m., the fire department confirmed the two children, a two-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy, died. The 39-year-old man at VUMC is in critical condition.

A neighbor told The Tennessean that one of the men living in the mobile home indicated a space heater had sparked the blaze.
An investigation is ongoing, but the Nashville Fire Department said the trailer did not have smoke alarms.
