4 East Nashville Businesses Hit in Rapid-Fire Robberies

Neighboring businesses on Fatherland Street were broken into back-to-back-to-back-to-back.

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — Four neighboring businesses on Fatherland Street in East Nashville were robbed in a quick-fire break-in spree early Monday morning.

The owner of The Trunk on Fatherland Street told WKRN his surveillance footage showed a man in and out of his store in 40 seconds, entering the store and going straight for the cash register.

“He went straight for the register. Normally we don’t keep cash here, but I guess the guy just got lucky,” Dustin Ponscheck told the station. He said the thief made off with $220.

Ponschek said his back door was pried open and the break-ins at his neighbors' shops followed a similar pattern. The owner of Chocolate FX said the thief was only able to steal some coins from her register.

She told WKRN she recently left her shop to find two men waiting for her by her car. While the business owners are looking out for one another, they've also noticed an uptick in crimes along Fatherland.

“I think just about every business through here at one time or another has had some type of encounter. I was just speaking with Far East and Frothy Monkey, and I know they had someone try to kick in their back door recently,” Ponscheck told News 2.
