Break-in Strikes Donelson Bowl

Overnight robbery and vandalism shutters Donelson alley temporarily.

DONELSON, TN — The legendary Donelson Bowl is temporarily closed as it recovers from a break-in and vandalism early Friday morning.

There are only four remaining bowling alleys in Davidson County and Donelson Bowl, which opened in 1959, is by far the oldest. Its iconic neon sign serves as a symbol of sorts for its neighborhood. But not even beloved institutions are spared from petty crime.

"[J]ust to let you know last night in the AM hours Donelson Bowl was broken into, robbed, and vandalized. Due to clean up and getting everything back in order we are currently closed and will be until further notice," the alley wrote on its Facebook page Friday.
