Citizen Foils East Nashville Drug Store Theft
A 20-year-old man is charged with felony theft after trying to steal more than $2,000 in prescription drugs from an East Nashville Walgreens
EAST NASHVILLE, TN — An alert bystander thwarted a would-be drug thief in East Nashville, police say.
On Wednesday, Christopher Clark, 20, hopped the counter at the Walgreens on Gallatin Avenue and began grabbing filled prescriptions, according to police. A store employee yelled for someone to call 911 as Clark made for the door with nearly $2,500 in drugs. He didn't get far, however, as a customer grabbed him and held him until police arrived.
Clark is charged with felony theft of merchandise and is jailed on a $20,000 bond.
