Donut Delivery Man Murdered in Donelson

Police believe the truck driver was killed after a man robbed a nearby gas station.

DONELSON, TN — A Krispy Kreme delivery man was shot and killed early Sunday morning, apparently after interrupting an armed robbery at a gas station.

Metro Police were called to a Mapco on Donelson Pike shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, where the clerk said an armed man robbed the store. Minutes later, the clerk said, he heard gunshots.

Police then found a Krispy Kreme truck crashed into the side of a nearby Walgreens, with the driver dead in his seat. Police discovered he did not die from the accident, but instead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe the driver may have been shot outside the Mapco and attempted to escape, but lost consciousness, causing the truck to crash into the drug store.

The suspect was wearing khaki pants, a sweatshirt with red letters and a white shoes.
