East Nashville Carjacking Sends 2 To Hospital

Two men were shot at the Dickerson Pike TigerMarket by a man who stole their SUV Thursday night.

NASHVILLE, TN — Two men have been hospitalized — one with life-threatening injuries — after being shot by a carjacker at a Dickerson Pike convenience store Thursday night.

The men were inside the TigerMarket on Dickerson Pike when they saw a man getting into their Chevrolet Trailblazer. When they went outside to confront him, the man shot them both, also striking the store's window, and fled in the SUV.

One man was struck in the abdomen and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His injuries are not life-threatening. The second, however, was hit in the leg and lost a significant amount of blood and is hospitalized at nearby Skyline Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The Trailblazer was found nearby a short time later, crashed and abandoned.

Police are reviewing the store's surveillance footage to identify the shooter, who arrived at the store with four other people in a Ford Focus.
