'Armed And Dangerous' Suspect On The Lam After East Nashville Man Shot, Killed

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — The suspect in an early Saturday morning murder outside an East Nashville apartment complex is likely "armed and dangerous," according to Metro Police.

Investigators say Tyrone Dunlap, 46, shot and killed 21-year-old Robert Westmoreland IV, the nephew of Dunlap's girlfriend, early Saturday outside the Edgefield Apartments.

When Westmoreland and his aunt arrived at the apartment, Dunlap began arguing with them. The fight escalated and Dunlap and Westmoreland went outside. Witnesses told police believe Westmoreland and then Dunlap shot him with a revolver.

Dunlap, who was convicted of second-degree murder in 1988, fled before police arrived.
