East Nashville Shootout and Crash Leaves One Dead
A man speeding away after being shot crashed into an MTA bus and later died.

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — A man is dead after a bizarre car accident following a close-range shoot-out near Shelby Park.
Police say two couples met near the tennis courts at the East Nashville park. One couple climbed in the backseat of the other's car and then, according to witnesses, gunfire erupted and all four exited the car.
The shooters fled from the backseat of the victims car and then escaped in their own car, police said, while the female victim cowered behind a third car before hopping in the backseat of the car in which she arrived. The male victim then climbed back into that car and attempted to escape himself, but crashed into an MTA bus that had pulled up on a sidewalk in the confusion.
