East Nashville Thieves Use Sledgehammer, Gun

A pair of thieves attacked one man with a sledgehammer and another with a gun in a Friday morning robbery.

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — A pair of thieves in East Nashville used a sledgehammer and a gun in early Friday morning home robbery, according to Metro Police.

Police were called to a home on Chickasaw Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. and were told two men tried to break into the home using the sledgehammer to bust down the door. One of the men inside the home opened the door, leading to a fight between the two suspects and two people inside.

One man was hit with the sledgehammer and another was shot in the right arm, according to police. Both were taken to Skyline Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the first suspect is a black man, between 20 and 25 years old, 6-feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white shirt and pants that may have been blue. The second suspect is a black man, also between 20 and 25, dressed in dark clothing.
