Fiery Neelys Bend Wreck Kills 1, Injures 3 Others in Madison
A late night Thursday crash on Neelys Bend Road killed the driver of an Impala.

MADISON, TN — The driver of a Chevrolet Impala died when his car burst into flames after a wreck on Neely's Bend Road late Thursday night, according to Metro Police. Three other people were injured.
Metro Police believe the Impala was speeding when it crashed into a Volkswagen minivan around 11 p.m. Thursday. The Impala then burst into flames and the driver, tentatively identified as a 51-year-old man, was killed. His body was burned so badly, police say DNA identification had to be used.
A 57-year-old woman, a 38-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man in the minivan were taken to Skyline Medical Center. Their injuries are not critical.

The driver of the minivan, Tamika Williams, 38, showed no evidence of intoxication. Police are awaiting a toxicology report for the 51-year-old driver of the Impala.

The crash shut down Neely's Bend Road for several hours into early Friday morning.
