Hermitage Man Saves Neighbors From Lightning-Strike Fire

A Hermitage man helped his three neighbors safely escape a burning home Saturday.

HERMITAGE, TN — A Hermitage man likely saved the life of his three neighbors after a home caught fire Saturday.

Nashville Fire officials think the house on Granny White Lane in Hermitage began to burn after a lightning strike during the strong storms that rumbled through the Midstate early Saturday.

The neighbor told WSMV he awoke to a startling sound.

“I heard a loud boom and then I saw the fire start on the top of the house,” said the neighbor. “I smelled the smoke so I went over and beat on the front door and we got the three guys out who were living in the house.”
