Heroin Ring Wheelmen Arrested In Nashville: Police
Metro Police arrested four people and seized five pounds of heroin during a bust.

NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police seized five pounds of heroin and arrested four people during the bust of a ring charged with transporting heroin from southern California to Middle Tennessee.
Investigators say Brianda Zuniga-Ramirez, 22, and Evelyn Vasquez, 24, both of San Diego, were being paid to drive heroin into Nashville. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Middle Tennessee Patch morning newsletter.)
Once they arrived in Middle Tennessee, the women met with Julio Garcia, 43, a fellow San Diegan, and Jeff Nelson, 45, of Madison, who received a 12-year sentence for cocaine distribution in May 2013. Detectives busted up the meeting, arresting the quartet and seizing the heroin and $2,000 in cash, according to a news release.

All four are charged with engaging in a heroin distribution conspiracy. Garcia’s bond is set at $250,000. Nelson’s bond is set at $76,000. Bond for the two women is set at $50,000 each.
