High-Speed, 2-County Car Chase Ends In East Nashville

Police chased a stolen car from Nashville Mt. Juliet and back again, but the suspect disappeared.

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police were able to recover a stolen car after early-morning high-speed car chase that crisscrossed two counties, though the driver eluded them.

Around 3:45 Wednesday morning, officers spotted a black Mazda 6 that had been reported stolen during a recent carjacking heading east on Interstate 40. The chase topped out around 110 mph as the driver crossed the Stones River into Wilson County. Mt. Juliet police took over the chase but the car doubled back and headed back towards Nashville.

The suspect took the Spence Lane exit and was able to finally escape the chase on Murfreesboro Pike. The car was found abandoned around 4:30 a.m. at Cayce Homes.

K9 officers weren't able to track the suspect. Police are interviewing Cayce Homes residents to determine if anyone saw the fleeing suspect.
