Man Grazed By Bullet Crashes Car In East Nashville

Metro Police are scratching their heads to determine when, where and by whom a man offering no answers was shot.

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police investigators were left scratching their heads when they came upon a bizarre scene near Shelby Avenue and the Interstate 24/40 split late Sunday. What they found was a crashed car with two bullet holes and a bloody interior. What they didn't find was a driver.

A passing motorist called 911 around 11:30 Sunday night to report an abandoned and damaged car at the split. Witnesses told police they saw someone pick up the driver of that car and he was later located at Hermitage's Summit Medical Center with graze wounds.

The 25-year-old man told police he was shot at Kung Fu Saloon in Midtown, but detectives say there's no evidence to back that up. The man is otherwise not cooperating with the investigation and no suspects have been identified.
