Nashville Police: Carjackers Stopping Drivers By Throwing Rocks
Metro Police are warning drivers not to stop if teens are throwing rocks at cars; it's likely a ruse that ends with a carjacking.

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — A pattern is emerging in a recent rash of East Nashville carjackings and Metro Police urge drivers to ignore what might seem like a mischievous prank because it escalates quickly.
At least three people have been carjacked in recent weeks after a group of teenagers threw rocks at their cars. Knowing that most people will stop to either check for damage or confront the rock-chuckers, the would-be carjackers throw stones and wait.

Once the driver stops and gets out of the vehicle, the teens then make an attempt to steal the car. One man was pistol whipped several times during a heist, police said.
Metro Police say the best thing to do if teens are throwing rocks at your car is to continue driving, note the location and description of the rock-throwers and call police.
