Nashville Police Officer Injured In Crash On Silliman Evans Bridge
An officer helping a driver on Interstate 24 early Saturday was hit himself.

NASHVILLE, TN — A Metro Police officer was injured when his cruiser was hit as he was assisting a driver on Interstate 24's Silliman Evans Bridge.
Around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, the officer was in the eastbound lanes of the bridge, sitting his cruiser, when he was hit. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.
The eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed for about 90 minutes after the crash. Investigators are working to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
