Nashville Police Seek Madison Wreck Witnesses

Metro Police are still trying to determine what happened before a fatal wreck in Madison earlier this month.

MADISON, TN — Metro Police accident investigators are still trying to find other witnesses to a June 11 crash that killed one pedestrian and injured another.

Freddie Ivey II, 45, was killed on Old Hickory Boulevard near Gallatin Pike, while J.D. Cox, 42, was injured. Witnesses told police Ivey and Cox were lying in the roadway at 1 a.m. when they were struck by an eastbound 2013 Kia Optima driven by Tracey Murphy, 45, of Hendersonville. Murphy reported that she did not see the men prior to the collision. Ivey died at the scene. Cox was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he was treated and released. During an interview, Cox was unable to provide officers with additional information.

Witnesses who have already spoken to police said they did not see why the men were on the ground. Investigators ask anyone with information about what occurred before the crash to call the Traffic Unit at (615) 862-7738.
