Neely's Bend Drunken Driver Nearly Hits Officer: Police
Metro Police working a two-car crash on Neely's Bend had to dodge a drunken driver who careened through the scene.

MADISON, TN — Officers working a weekend crash on Neely's Bend had to avoid a drunken driver who careened through their accident scene, according to Metro Police.
Police had the road blocked as they investigated the initial crash when an uninvolved car refused to mind the road block and sped through the scene, forcing one officer to take evasive action to avoid being hit, according to an affidavit.

A brief chase ensued, but ended after the driver himself crashed.
Police say the man had an open container of beer in his cup holder and his license was revoked. He is also charged with assault on an officer.
