Old Hickory Man Saved By Smoke Detectors
An early-morning fire destroyed an Old Hickory home, but the homeowner is safe thanks to his smoke alarms.
FOLD HICKORY, TN — Awakened by his smoke detectors, an Old Hickory man is safe despite his home being destroyed in an early morning fire Thursday.
The man told Nashville Fire officials he woke up to the sound of his alarms around 3:30 Thursday morning and was able to safely escape his Hadley's Bend Boulevard home before calling 911.

Crews were able to extinguish the blaze after a 30-minute fight.
