One Dead, One Injured in East Nashville Shootout
Argument at Cayce Homes escalates into a fatal shootout.
EAST NASHVILLE, TN — An argument in the parking lot of Cayce Homes escalated into a shootout, leaving one man dead and another injured.
Metro Police say Eric Gray, 23, was talking to some people in a car around 10:15 p.m. Saturday when two other men began yelling at him from across the parking lot. Gray was then joined in the parking lot by Marris Wynne, 22, and his brother Maurice, 20. The Wynnes and Gray continued arguing with the unidentified pair and then shooting began.
Gray was struck in the chest and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died. Maurice Wynne was hit in the leg and is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. Marris Wynne was uninjured.
