Pedestrian Killed in East Nashville
A man died after being hit by a car at East Trinity Lane and Meridian Street in East Nashville.
EAST NASHVILLE, TN — A pedestrian crossing East Trinity Lane died after being hit by a car Thursday night.
Metro Police say the victim, who is in his 40s and has not been identified, was crossing Trinity Lane at Meridian Street outside of the crosswalk around 9:10 Thursday night. One car braked to allow the man to cross, but a driver behind that car allegedly tried to pass the slowing car and hit the pedestrian before sliding into a railing.
The pedestrian died on the scene. The driver was taken to Skyline Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. It is not known if the driver will be charged.
