Police: Pair Bail Out of Stolen Car, Run Across Briley Parkway
Two people are charged with stealing a car from a Murfreesboro lot, crashing and running across a busy road.
DONELSON, TN — Two people were arrested during a risky escape after crashing a stolen car, police said.
Greg Merrilees, 40, and Teresa Moran, 30, face theft and evading charges, among others, after allegedly stealing a car from a rental car lot in Murfreesboro. They were later spotted on Atrium Way in Donelson and, upon seeing police, sped off in the stolen car.
The pair crashed the car into a fence, then jumped said fence and ran onto Briley Parkway, according to their arrest report. Moran was arrested while knocking on doors in Craigmeade Drive and she told police that Merrilees had fled into a nearby wooded area and he was located by a police helicopter.
