Sex Offender Arrested At Nashville Middle School Track Meet: Police
A man convicted of raping a 5-year-old was arrested for attending a middle-school track meet at Stratford High School.
EAST NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police arrested a 33-year-old man with a previous conviction for raping a 5-year-old after they say he attended a middle school track meet earlier this month in violation of the state's sex offender registration law.
Works was on the campus of Stratford High School May 8 during the middle school district track finals, according to his arrest affidavit, and later admitted to an investigator that he was there.

Works pleaded guilty to rape in 2000 after being arrested and indicted in 1998 for raping a 5-year-old. This is his third charge for violating the registration law. Six days before his most recent arrest, he was charged for not reporting an address change. He was arrested in 2014 for failing to report that he'd taken a job at a salomn 95 feet from a day care center.
In the latest case, Works is charged with violating the sex offender registry for the third time and violating community supervision.
