TDOT Worker Hit On Roadside While Changing Tire in Hermitage
A 37-year-old was charged with driving without a license after hitting a TDOT worker on I-40.

HERMITAGE, TN — A state Department of Transportation employee is hospitalized after being hit by a car on the side of Interstate 40 Saturday. The 37-year-old man who hit the TDOT worker was arrested for driving without a license and insurance violations.
Metro Police said the unnamed TDOT worker was changing a tire near Exit 221 when a westbound car left the roadway and hit him. The worker was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center has sustained "serious injuries."
The driver, 37-year-old Dennis Castellanos Moreno, was not paying attention to traffic slowing ahead of him and had to leave the road to avoid rear-ending other cars, his arrest affidavit said.

Moreno has bonded out of jail.
