Two Dead After Talbot's Corner Shootout
A shootout in northeast Nashville began when gunfire erupted from a passing Kia.

NASHVILLE, TN — Two men were killed in a shootout that erupted following a drive-by shooting in Talbot's Corner.
Metro Police said Donnie McFarland, 34, and Mahri Hawkins, 30, were shot several times each on Duke Street by the occupants of a white Kia Optima.
McFarland was at a relative’s house with Hawkins when the Kia passed by, leading to an exchange of gunfire around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. McFarland died on the scene and Hawkins died after being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The abandoned Kia was located on Ben Allen Road. Police have "strong leads."
