Woman Arrested Driving Toddler, 28 Pounds Of Pot: Nashville Police

A 25-year-old woman had 28 pound of marijuana, four guns, more than $20,000 in cash and a young child in her car, according to police.

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — A 25-year-old woman was arrested Monday after police found 28 pounds of marijuana, cash and firearms in her car, along with her young child.

Officers first pulled over Dhargham Ateia, the woman's boyfriend the child's father, for driving without his seat belt on Boscobel Street. Ateia was following a white Mercedes driven by Carla Flores. Both vehicles parked in front of an apartment and officers searched Ateia's Altima and found 30 grams of marijuana, two loaded Glock handguns and $1,150 in cash, according to arrest records.

Flores then consented to a search of her Mercedes. Inside the trunk, police found 28 pounds of marijuana in a duffel bag, four guns — one of which had been reported stolen — and $22,080 in cash.

Both Ateia and Flores were arrested for marijuana possession, theft and firearm possession charges. The child was released to a family member.
