Would-Be Car Buyer, Upset At Rain Delay, Shoots Man At Dickerson Pike Auto Dealership: Nashville Police
A 44-year-old man is recovering after he was shot by a customer apparently upset a downpour delayed his car purchase.

NASHVILLE, TN — A 44-year-0ld man is recovering after he was shot by a would-be customer at a Dickerson Pike car lot Tuesday afternoon.
The man, 44-year-old James Ensley, was standing on the porch of Bargain Lot with the owner of the lot and friends at Fern Avenue and Dickerson Pike when a man walked up and said he wanted to buy a car. A rain shower had commenced, so the owner decided to wait to show the man his stock until the downpour subsided, according to witnesses. The would-be buyer was displeased with delay, pulled out a gun and shot Ensley and then fled on foot towards Fern.

Ensley was shot in the neck, shoulder and stomach and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he is expected to recover. He apparently did not know the shooter. Several of the vehicles at the dealership were damaged by gunfire.
Metro Police responded but were unable to locate the suspect.
