Law and Order June 25 (eastridgenewsonline.com) — East Ridge police report recovering a stolen Buick on Dupont Street and handling several other incidents, including vandalism to a vehicle on Roper Street and narcotics found after a traffic stop. Officers also served multiple outstanding warrants, with several individuals taken to Hamilton County Jail.

Man Who Ran Into Officer Gets Total 20-Year Sentence (chattanoogan.com) — A man has been ordered to serve a total of 20 years in prison for a 2024 pursuit in which East Ridge officer Alan Resendiz was struck and seriously injured while deploying spike strips. He received 10 years in Georgia and another 10 in Tennessee, to be served consecutively.

Hamilton County 911 operators push for pay raise after budget excludes funding (local3news.com) — East Ridge residents rely on Hamilton County 911 operators whose push for higher pay was left out of Chattanooga’s newly approved 2027 budget, despite covering calls for East Ridge and other nearby cities. Dispatchers say low wages hurt critical public safety staffing, while city officials cite budget constraints and concerns about committing to multi-year raises without new revenue.
   

4. Man With Multiple Warrants Is Arrested After Vehicle Pursuit (chattanoogan.com) — A man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested after a vehicle pursuit that ended with a crash on East 5th Street in Chattanooga, where drugs and cash were seized. In addition to several new charges, he also had outstanding warrants from Hamilton County courts and the East Ridge Police Department.
