Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:
- A Franklin police officer is making new strides in his months-long battle against COVID-19. Officer Sean Finn, who has been hospitalized since January, came out of a coma in February and was taken off his ventilator earlier this month. This week, Finn has even started walking again. The family also received another source of hope over the weekend after Franklin's Law Enforcement Appreciation Partnership (LEAP) hosted a benefit concert to help cover his medical expenses. - Last night, the Williamson County School board met to discuss the selection process for textbooks and teaching materials. A prospective policy would introduce local textbook committees, made of both school staff and parents, to review any content before it enters the school. State legislators in Tennessee are also considering a bill that would allow parents to review tests and instructional materials. (WSMV 4)
