🌱 Gilda's Valentine's Day Packages + Franklin Grove Plan Revised

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Franklin.

Hello, neighbors! It's me again, Sean Peek, your host of the Franklin Daily.

First, today's weather:

Sunny and warmer. High: 52 Low: 28.

Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:

  1. The Associate Board at Gilda's Club Middle Tennessee is bringing joy this Valentine's Day to those impacted by cancer. The group is creating Valentine's Day care packages for Gilda's Club participants, focusing on families with young children and those who live alone. More than 50 care packages filled with warm socks and gloves, candles, self-care items, and other goodies, are being delivered to homes throughout Middle Tennessee — from Brentwood and Franklin to Nashville, Bellevue, Mt. Juliet, Gallatin, and Murfreesboro. (Williamson Source)
  2. The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County has revised its site plans for Franklin Grove Estate and Gardens again to further adhere to community feedback. Version four of the plan proposes a left turn lane onto the property, eliminates the circular drive at the main entrance, decreases parking from 103 spots to 100 with no parking on the Lewisburg Avenue side of the property, and decreases the size of the Hall from 6,200 square feet to 3,800 square feet. The plans were submitted to city staff on Jan. 28 and will be reviewed by the Franklin Historic Zoning Commission today. (williamsonherald.com)
  3. The WCS Orchestra Camp is returning to Grassland Middle this summer. From Jun. 6 to Jun. 10, rising sixth through ninth-grade Williamson County Schools with orchestra experience will get the opportunity to learn from professional musicians, be part of a string orchestra ensemble, and perform in a final concert at the end of the week. The camp will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. and early bird registration must be completed by Apr. 1. (Williamson Source)
