Deputies investigating after Middle TN child says stranger stopped their car near bus stop and offered them a ride to school (wsmv.com) — Deputies are investigating after a Franklin student reported a stranger in a white Ford Fiesta offering them a ride near a bus stop by the Waters Edge and St. Marlo communities, behind the Williamson County Ag Center. Expect extra law enforcement presence around school transportation times, and parents are urged to remind kids not to accept rides from anyone they don't know or have permission to ride with.
   

2. Judge Denise Andre Marks 20 Years on the Bench in Williamson County (williamsonsource.com) — Williamson County's longest-serving elected judge, Denise Andre, is marking 20 years on the General Sessions Court bench while continuing to expand addiction-focused programs that serve Franklin residents. From launching the county's DUI Recovery Court to overseeing a broad docket of civil, criminal, and treatment-oriented cases, she says she's far from finished and wants to keep serving the community.
   

3. Movie star Brad Pitt premieres 'Heart of the Beast' in Franklin as Tennessee film industry grows (wsmv.com) — Franklin just hosted the premiere of Brad Pitt's new survival thriller, "Heart of the Beast," at FirstBank Amphitheater, putting the city in a national spotlight. The event underscores how Tennessee's film industry is nearing $1 billion in annual production, with earlier hits like the TV show "Nashville" helping build local crews and interest.
   

4. FEAR FEST! Coraline (2009) (downtownfranklintn.com) — Families in Franklin can catch the animated film "Coraline" as part of the Franklin Theatre's October-long Fear Fest, which mixes kid-friendly spooky movies with classic and deep-cut horror favorites. 'Cats to Compete in Mason Rudolph Championship (nusports.com) — Franklin's Vanderbilt Legends Club is hosting the Mason Rudolph Championship this weekend, bringing Northwestern and 14 other top women's golf programs to town.
