🌱 Walmart Roof Fire + FFD Loses One Of Its Own

Here are the top stories today in Franklin:

  1. The Franklin Fire Department quickly extinguished a rooftop fire today at a Walmart located at 3600 Mallory Ln. Their efforts prevented the fire from extending into the building. The department was dispatched to the commercial structure at 9:58 AM after a worker on the roof observed flames inside an HVAC unit. (Press Release Desk)
  2. The Franklin Fire Department has announced the death of Retired Battalion Chief Gentry Fox, who passed away on Nov. 15, 2021, at the age of 70. For those wishing to pay their respects, his last ride, visitation, and funeral arrangements will be held on Sunday, Nov 21 and Monday, Nov 22. Chief Fox retired from the Franklin Fire Department in 2012 after 38 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Williamson County Rescue Squad. (City of Franklin)
  3. On Wednesday, the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County released an updated proposed site plan for Franklin Grove Estate & Gardens. The proposed site is the former O'More College of Design property located in historic downtown Franklin. The most recent designs are based on community input. (Press Release Desk)
