1. East Tennessee Cities Gearing Up To Fight Data Centers (tennesseeconservativenews.com) — Kingsport has adopted new rules limiting data and crypto centers to heavy industrial zones at least 500 feet from homes, with a 60-decibel noise cap, as East Tennessee communities push back on these facilities. The article explains how Bristol, Johnson City, Jonesborough, and nearby counties are using moratoriums, zoning, and environmental reviews to address noise, power use, and pollution concerns before more centers arrive. 
2. Sullivan County Man Indicted, Charged with Assaulting Agents (einpresswire.com) — A Kingsport man has been indicted in connection with an April 2022 officer-involved incident on East Stone Drive, where authorities say he drove toward agents trying to arrest him. No one was hurt, but the case led to multiple assault and related charges, and he has now been transferred to Sullivan County Jail to be served on those counts.

Kingsport City Schools Launch New Communication Platform For Families (wcyb.com) — Families in Kingsport City Schools will now receive all school updates through ParentSquare, a new centralized communication app the district is rolling out today. Parents can customize how they get messages from teachers, coaches and schools, while middle and high school students will use StudentSquare to stay directly connected with school leaders and activities.
4. Ferrum announces 2026 Hall of Fame class (wsls.com) — Kingsport native Kaitlyn Culler Hicks is being inducted into Ferrum College’s 2026 Sports Hall of Fame after a record-setting softball career from 2010–13. She helped the Panthers win conference titles, became the program’s all-time wins leader, and later earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, joining six other former athletes in this year’s class.
