Robinson Middle softball sets off for chance to play in state championship (wjhl.com) — Kingsport’s Robinson Middle School softball team is heading to Chattanooga for a shot at the state championship after an extra-innings win over Soddy Daisy. Coach Lauren Smith says the girls are peaking at the right time, and the Kingsport school community has rallied around them with strong support and excitement. 
2. Affidavit: Kingsport woman charged after letting man drive her vehicle under the influence, leading to crash that killed 1, injured 3 (wjhl.com) — A Kingsport woman has been charged with “DUI by consent” after allegedly allowing an impaired driver to use her car, leading to a downtown Johnson City crash that killed one person and injured three others. Court documents say she owned the vehicle and was a passenger during the incident, and she is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
3. Arrests May 12 (themountainpress.com) — A recent Sevier County Jail intake report includes a Kingsport resident among dozens of people charged with various offenses between May 8 and May 11. While the list mainly covers Sevier County and out-of-town visitors, it does note a 21-year-old from Kingsport facing a misdemeanor bench warrant and being held in custody.
