Records: Woman allegedly abused by KPD officer had overdosed, just turned 18 (wbir.com) — A former Knoxville Police Department officer is accused of abusing the body of an 18-year-old overdose victim found in a Knoxville home, and now faces an abuse of a corpse charge in Knox County Criminal Court. Investigators say the woman died in December 2024 after taking ecstasy, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began probing the officer's conduct in June, leading to his resignation this summer.
   

2. Local residents are urged to use nearby resources like the Helen Ross McNabb Center, the Tennessee crisis line, and the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, especially during National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
