Harold's Bar, Bertie Rose and Royal Spud Coming to Downtown Knoxville (whatnow.com) — New dining and nightlife options are headed to Market Square as Harold's Bar, Bertie Rose, and Royal Spud move into the former Alice in Appalachia space in downtown Knoxville. The trio will share the 18-20 Market Square address, offering a classic bar, a modern Southern breakfast-and-lunch spot, and a walk-up Dutch fry shop expected to open this fall.
   

2. Club Sportico: This May Be Private Equity's College Sports Play (sportico.com) — Knoxville readers may want to watch how the 865 Neyland waterfront district beside Neyland Stadium could reshape the riverfront with privately funded entertainment, dining, and a large "condotel." One dead, another hurt in shootings at a gas station near downtown Knoxville (knoxnews.com) — A deadly shooting at the Shell station on Summit Hill Drive near downtown Knoxville left one person dead and another injured after an early-morning fight, according to police. Two women were arrested, with one charged with reckless homicide and another facing attempted murder counts after shots were fired at a fleeing vehicle.
   

4. No. 15 Tennessee continues strong start, drubs Kennesaw State (statenews.net) — Tennessee fans in Knoxville saw the No. 15 Vols roll to a 42-9 win over Kennesaw State at home, powered by Daune Morris' 116 rushing yards and a balanced offense. The victory moves Tennessee to 3-0 heading into a high-stakes SEC opener against top-ranked Texas next Saturday in Knoxville.
