Diane Black Condemns, Will Still Vote for Donald Trump

The Sixth District representative says Hillary Clinton is too dangerous to elect.

Rep. Diane Black condemned Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's remarks about women made public over the weekend, but says she will still vote for him in November.

The Sixth District representative issued a statement expressing her frustration with Trump's vulgar remarks that condone sexual assault, which the real estate developer and reality TV star dismissed as "locker room talk" in Sunday's debate.

“I would've yanked my son by the ear if he had talked that way when he was a teenager much less an adult. Our country's problems are severe and I am frustrated that Donald Trump's immaturity keeps distracting us. I condemn his attitudes toward women displayed in that tape," Black said in a statement.

She, however, did not go as far as Gov. Bill Haslam who urged Trump to drop his candidacy and said he would write-in another Republican or as far as Republican State Sen. Steve Dickerson who said he couldn't see a path that would lead him to vote for Trump. Black said that Hillary Clinton's "radical and dangerous policies" are too much of a risk.

Republican colleague Marsha Blackburn joined Black in condemning Trump, who both have vociferously supported, but like Black, Blackburn said she too will cast a ballot for Trump.
