• Got Old Electronics? La Vergne's Free Electronic Dumpster Returns October 17 (wgnsradio.com) — La Vergne residents will have a free way to recycle old electronics and browse a new community yard sale at the FiftyForward La Vergne Senior Center on Saturday, October 17. From 7 a.m. to noon you can drop off everything from laptops to small appliances, then shop the yard sale until 2 p.m., with donations and proceeds supporting senior programs.
   

• La Vergne Launches Virtual Assistant to Handle Non-Emergency Calls (rutherfordsource.com) — La Vergne's Emergency Communications Center has rolled out a virtual assistant called AVA to handle most non-emergency calls so human telecommunicators can focus on 911 emergencies. The system can log service requests directly into dispatch, supports more than 55 languages, and is expected to automate most routine calls while still transferring potential emergencies to a live dispatcher.
   

• Public Notices – Murfreesboro Post – September 15, 2026 (mainstreetmediatn.com) — Several important La Vergne notices are out this week, including a Sept. 29 Board of Zoning Appeals hearing on a Jackson Square Boulevard variance and new ordinances changing zoning and city budgets. Residents can also bid on a senior center roof replacement, track a foreclosure affecting a La Vergne property, and see how to sign up for public comments at upcoming meetings.
