• SEVEN KIDS SHORT: Moore County's free Pre-K risks loss of funding (thelynchburgtimes.com) — Lynchburg’s free Voluntary Pre-K class at Lynchburg Elementary is seven income-eligible four-year-olds short of the enrollment needed to keep full state funding this fall. If Moore County can’t fill 18 qualifying spots, the district could lose money and eventually the program, leaving local families with far fewer affordable preschool options and kids less prepared for kindergarten.
