Manchester man's death marks 10th boating-related fatality of the year (timesfreepress.com) — A 48-year-old man from Manchester died Saturday while paddling on the Barren Fork River near downtown McMinnville, according to wildlife officials. His death is the state’s 10th boating-related fatality this year, as Tennessee continues to see fluctuating but persistently high numbers of deadly incidents on its lakes and rivers.

Investigators say a dispute over a female co-worker led one guard to fatally stab a colleague and injure three others before the remaining workers were sent home on another bus.
