Alt-Pop Country Artist AUSTIN Questions Relationship in New Single

With his sophomore single, alt-pop-country singer-songwriter AUSTIN is taking stock of what’s left in a seemingly solid relationship. “Leave Like That,” written by AUSTIN, Brooks Hoffman, Gary Garris and Mason Thornley, reminisces on all that was lost all while contemplating what could have been. Premiered exclusively by Music Mayhem Magazine yesterday, fans can stream the single on all platforms now.

“I want to tell the story of a past relationship. I feel like people can relate to meeting a significant other and falling in love, the heartbreak, and what you do after the fact,” AUSTIN shared with Music Mayhem Magazine. “I tend to spend a lot of time on ‘sad songs’ and the ‘missing you’ songs, but I feel like that’s a very universal topic that a lot of people can relate with.”

Coping with the end of a failed relationship, AUSTIN combines his personal lyrics with catchy melodies that elicit memories of warmer days and easier times with a lost love. With Matt Geroux serving as producer, AUSTIN continues to hone in on his cutting-edge sound that draws inspiration from pop, punk and indie bands, all while staying true to his country roots. Coming on the heels of his debut release, “Way Too Much,” the Round Hill Music publishing artist continues to lay the groundwork of what’s to come.

Born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and a graduate of Murray State University, AUSTIN found early inspiration in the radio leading to involvement in church choir and theater throughout school. With early encouragement from his High School choir teacher, he focused on performing over baseball as he headed to college. After writing and performing an original song his freshman year at MSU, AUSTIN began building his fanbase and plans for the future. After moving to Nashville, AUSTIN went on to sign with Morris Higham for management and in 2023 signed an exclusive publishing deal with Round Hill Music. With additional new music on the horizon, AUSTIN is stepping forward, knowing the best is yet to come with music as authentic as he is.
